International Construction Management Day
International Construction Management Day puts a lens on all things construction management. It is a day for celebrating the value of construction management and takes place on the second Monday in March each year.
International Construction Management Day puts a lens on all things construction management. It is a day for celebrating the value of construction management and takes place on the second Monday in March each year.
The day is a collaboration between CIOB, the International Project Management Association (IPMA) and the Construction Management Associations of America (CMAA), Japan (CMAJ), and Korea (CMAK), it started as far back as 2010.
Over the years we have used the day to raise the profile of the industry and run numerous competitions. These competitions are aimed at the next generation and since 2014 we have used the popular block building video game Minecraft to inspire them.
With more than 70 million players worldwide Minecraft is today’s version of Lego (and many of our past competitions have included Lego too!). Using social media we have encouraged young people from all over the world to join us in Minecraft; where they have tackled challenges like replicating world famous buildings built by CIOB members to how they would design future housing.
